Christmas Flower Infographic

Christmas Flower Infographic

All of us at From You Flowers have been delivering Christmas cheer the last 10 years, which has helped us learn what is popular with Christmas flower giving. This infographic visualizes some interesting facts that we have learned about what people are searching and buying during the holiday season.  Based on Google Data for Christmas browsers in 2011, 2.2 million searchers were looking for Christmas Poinsettias.  The second highest search was for Christmas Centerpieces amounting to 550,000 queries.

What does that data mean in terms of purchases?  Thirty percent of adults buy flowers for Christmas or Hanukkah.  Of those purchases, as the search data would imply, 50,000,000 are for poinsettias.  Poinsettias come in the traditional red, making up 74% of the market.  Remaining colors you ask? Try finding poinsettias in pink, white, and mixed making up 6%, 8%, and 3% respectively.

Flowers really are the perfect gift for everyone on your list this Christmas.  From the party host, to your colleagues at work, to families celebrating far away, flowers strike just the right tone.  From You Flowers offers a wide selection of gifts that can satisfy even the pickiest relative offering Christmas Centerpieces to dress up the table, poinsettias to bring classic style, or beautiful Christmas floral arrangements hand delivered by a local florist.

Find your favorite Christmas flower arrangements to send today at From You Flowers.

Thanksgiving Decoration Ideas

November 12th, 2012 by Stacey Doornbos

Decorate your home this Thanksgiving before your guests come over to celebrate the season and eat all your turkey. From table decorations to front door wreaths, there are multiple ways to brighten your home this November. We are going to share some of our favorite classic thanksgiving decorating ideas for 2012.

Front Door Thanksgiving Decorations

Your front door is the welcome point for guests when they arrive for Thanksgiving dinner, and also the decorations that can be enjoyed by your neighborhood. But don’t worry, it can be easy to make your front door beautiful for the holidays. From simple wreaths to plants surrounding your door, you will find a great way to decorate. Below is a picture of one of our favorite homemade wreaths, because it includes the things you are actually thankful for. Visit homestoriesatoz.com to see how to make one for your front door.

Table Top Decorations

When you think about decorating a table, make it easy on yourself. At From You Flowers’ our customers have loved our Thanksgiving centerpieces, which are arranged by a local florist and hand delivered to your home. Other ideas included placing a grouping of small pumpkins and candles in the middle of the table, or placing a wreath on the table with candles inside of it.

Thanksgiving Mantel Decorations
Decorating a mantel can seem overwhelming, the best way to start is with the middle of the mantel and work your way to either side. Our favorite mantel lay-out for Fall comes from Better Homes and Gardens (picture below). Simply buy three large pumpkins and paint two of them white, silver or gold. Place them all in a row, with the tallest one in the middle. Next place matching candlesticks on either side of the candles, either use the ones you have or spray paint some old ones to match the setting. And last take a trip to Michael’s to purchase a string of fake fall leafs to wrap around the mantel. If you enjoy this idea, check-out all of Better Homes and Gardens Mantel Ideas.

 Classic Thanksgiving Recipes

Side Course: With every classic Thanksgiving meal you need delicious Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, the perfect compliment to every Turkey. Recipe Here.

Main Course: World’s Simplest Thanksgiving Turkey, as named by the Food Network. Yes you will still have to pull the neck and giblets out, but if this is your first time cooking a Turkey…or if you just love the classic, this recipe is a win. Recipe Here.

Dessert: I bet you know what I was going to recommend for the classic dessert before you even started reading this. Have to go with Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie, if not Grandma might get upset. Recipe Here.

Vegeterian Thanksgiving Recipes:

Side Course: Look no further then this Shiitake Mushroom Stuffing! Made with a fix of onions, garlic, celery, sage, apricots and more…this is sure to be popular with your guests. Recipe Here.

Main Course: The best part of Thanksgiving is that the meal is warm and reminds you of Autumn. So the perfect choice for a vegetarian main course is a Winter Squash Risotto. With seasonal butternut, thyme and white wine your guests will enjoy this dish. Recipe Here.

Dessert: Apple Pie. The best pie. Recipe Here.

November 6th, 2012 by Stacey Doornbos

Of all the decorations you fill your home with during the Thanksgiving holiday, the centerpiece is the most popular. Whether you love making a homemade centerpiece or prefer having a florist deliver a floral Thanksgiving centerpiece…we are here to give you the best ideas for 2012.

Autumn Centerpiece for the Thanksgiving Table

FromYouFlowers.com

Florist Arranged, Hand Delivered

Having a florist arrange a flower centerpiece has its benefits. Artfully arranged by the florist and available for same day delivery, it will beautify your table and easily check something off your to-do list. Florist arranged Thanksgiving centerpieces are also the perfect gift for the host of this year’s dinner.

Home-Made Thanksgiving Centerpiece

It can be fun to get the family together and create your own work-of-art to display on your Thanksgiving table. Our favorite idea is Martha Stewarts’ basket centerpiece. Simply arranged with woven baskets that you can purchase at any crafts store and filled with seasonal fruit, it is an easy and beautiful display. If you would like to add a twist, paint the baskets gold or silver to make the look more upscale.

Remember to have fun decorating for Thanksgiving, this is a great time of the year to use flowers, leafs and candles!
